Australian aged care services provide care and support to people in Australia who need aged care. Services are provided both in a residential aged care setting and in the wider community.
The following dashboard presents key figures on the characteristics of people entering aged care services in Australia, including which services they are entering and who is entering aged care for the first time.
The target population for aged care services is all people aged 65 and over and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50–64.
