Aged care data snapshot—2018

This snapshot of data from the Department of Health provides key figures about aged care in the 2017–18 financial year up to 30 June 2018 and is a companion to the 2017-18 Report on the Operation of the Aged Care Act 1997.

The sixth and final release completes the Aged Care Data Snapshot 2018, and provides home care data and updates to assessment and approvals data across remoteness areas.
Previous releases have included:

•  The first release (5/9/2018) provided population data and information on places, providers and services in selected programs (residential aged care, Home Care Packages, Restorative Care (Transition Care and Short-Term Restorative Care), and the flexible aged care programs).

• The second release (14/9/2018) provided assessment and approvals data in addition to the content provided in the first release.

• The third release (21/9/2018) provided transition care data and a minor addition to the assessment data, in addition to the content provided in the first and second release.

• The fourth release (5/10/2018) provided expenditure, residential care and home support data, in addition to the content provided in the first, second and third release.

• The fifth release (19/10/2018) provided additions to the expenditure data, and updates to home support grants funding amounts, in addition to the content provided in the first, second, third and fourth release.
